UK Big Energy is Killing Solar Industry

UK government is lowering feed in tariff from 43.3p/kWh (for systems of less than 4kWp) to 21p/kWh in order to “save” consumers from rising their energy bill. You can download Energy Savings Trust Fact Sheet here. The renewables surcharge on an average bill comes to 7p/month and may probably rise to a pound or two per 100 pounds.

At the same time nuclear energy and coal are not paying their full costs as environmental damage and finding permanent spent nuclear fuel waste storage are budget items, paid by the taxpayer in a very non-transparent way.
Solar energy development is inevitable with or without UK. The world has reached peak oil, we have harvested low hanging fruits, and every barrel of oil now cost more to extract and is more expensive to buy (making oil companies and oil country rulers rich). Tar sends are a scheme to pick your pocket! With carbon emission pricing EU scheme coal is becoming more expensive, too, not to speak about dangers and unsolved storage problems of nuclear.
In a few years solar will become competitive on its own, thanks to Germany and China and despite all the obstacles placed against it by the USA and UK. Germany has only one feed in tariff of 25cents/kWh regardless of size, their average installation is measured in MWp, and they have already installed tens of GWp of solar installations. Uk just started from about 0kWp of installations.
